Services
The key competences of our institution in AM research and development are advanced additive manufacturing technologies, extensive practical experience in material testing and evaluation through 3D printing processes (particularly in collaboration with partners during the development of sustainable and bio-based materials), integrated product development from concept to production, a strong focus on sustainability and circular economy solutions, and active participation in collaborative national and international research projects.
Manfred Haiberger
Our institution provides in-house design and product development services for AM, including design optimization, prototyping, and functional testing, with a strong focus on practical 3D printing expertise and support for material-related developments.
Our special focus areas in design for AM include design for lightweight structures, functional integration, part consolidation, and material- and process-specific design optimization, especially for polymer- and bio-based applications.

HARATECH is one of Austria’s leading 3D printing service providers for high-tech plastic components. The in-house development team supports customers from the initial idea to the final product and combines material know-how with deep expertise in a wide range of additive manufacturing technologies. In addition, HARATECH offers in-house injection molding for the development and production of high-volume series parts.
In selective laser sintering (SLS), we recycle used polymer powder by sieving, conditioning, and blending it with a defined ratio of virgin powder. This allows for multiple reuse cycles while maintaining consistent part quality. Our process contributes to reduced material waste and supports sustainable production in additive manufacturing.
Our sustainable practices in AM include participation in several research projects focused on circular economy and eco-friendly materials. In the REDUCE project, we explore how to minimize material usage and optimize AM part design for resource efficiency. Recycle4Repair focuses on the reuse and mechanical recycling of polymer waste from additive manufacturing for repair applications. functionalwood2print investigates the use of bio-based wood-polymer composites for functional AM components, promoting renewable raw materials in production. These activities support our strong commitment to sustainability in AM.
